THe Nerds

As the new year rolls around, we get the second half of Star Trek Discovery.  Jon, Lindsay, and Miles talk about what they taught about the first half.  It's not your normal Star Trek, and that's probably a good thing.  It's time to change how

Talking Crit Podcast: Deadly Echoes

It’s about to get down and lichy in this here lair.  Vox Machina has infiltrated the ancient lair of Opash, which is now a lair of Thordak, which is now a lair of Raishan?  We’re going to need to see whose name is on the lease.  With Paladin in hand, we get to see some of a DM’s most favourite bits, the clever trap, and oh what a trap.  We had some flame skulls, and we had some serious character development with Scanlan.  Where is he going with the addiction?  Will he be able to pull out of the drug escapism?  It was a deep look into the Shorthalt mind set.

No Question of the Week this week, I wanted to put some focus on Let’s Talk.  This year, on January 25th, it’s Bell Let’s Talk Day.  It’s an initiative that helps drive the conversation about mental illness in Canada.  It comes down to the simple, yet difficult, idea to talk about what’s going on in our heads.  I’m a huge supporter of this, having gone through depression myself.  It’s great that we are finally put this in the open, and showing people that’s it’s okay to talk about this.  The first bit of the podcast has me talking about this, and I think it’s important.  How can you help?  It’s easy, just use the hashtag #BellLetsTalk, and Bell will donate a nickel every time the hashtag is used, tweeted, or retweeted.

If this helps just one person, then it was all worth the effort.  Here’s to owning our mental health instead of our mental health owning us.

Don’t forget to subscribe to the podcast for automatic updates and episodes. You can tune in via iTunes or Google Play. If you want to comment or join along in the fun, you can always use #TalkingCrit and we’ll read your questions and comments on the show.
